SOL-AIR SYSTEMS CHOSEN BY DOCKSIDE GREEN AS SUPPLIER OF AIR
DECONTAMINATION EQUIPMENT FOR SELF CONTAINED WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT
Kelowna, B.C. (July 20, 2007) Dockside Green, North America's first community to target LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) platinum certification has awarded the contract for air decontamination and odor control to Sol-Air Systems of Kelowna, B.C. This system will eliminate all odors from the development's waste water treatment plant.
Dockside Green is an award-winning development located on the harbour in the heart of Victoria, BC. The mixed residential, office, retail and industrial space is a partnership with Vancity and Windmill Developments. Dockside Green required a proven and dependable odor control system to eliminate odors from their waste water treatment facility. Sol-Air's scientifically and customer proven technology met all of the project's requirements.

The UV Radiation System
The efficient and chemical free UV Radiation system uses a natural process that adds nothing new to the environment and uses up to 90% less energy when compared to competing technologies, resulting in a very small ecological footprint, while also operating with lower capital costs.
UV Radiation catalyses the breaking of ambient oxygen and water vapor molecules into O+ and OH-. These short lived free radicals oxidize the odorous contaminants in the air. This reaction results in a sequential and instantaneous gas breakdown of the contaminants with minimal by-products, such as elemental sulfur, CO2, water vapor, molecular oxygen and trace ozone.
